The District Magistrate of Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat made a surprise visit to a community health centre at Sarurpur Kalan Village in the district on Saturday. During his inspection, the official found that only 10 out of 26 staff members were present in the medical unit and a large crowd of patients were waiting in the health centre for their treatment.

District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh visited the Community Health Centre around 10.15 am to inspect the functioning of health centres in the village but to his surprise, he found that patients are not getting enough facilities in comparison to what the state government is providing.

The official said that finding half of the staff absent is a matter of concern and strict action will be taken against absent doctors and other employees which may also include a deduction in salaries.
