With a focus on strengthening the self-employment ecosystem and driving Uttar Pradesh towards a one-trillion-dollar economy, the Yogi government’s Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (MYUVA) has witnessed strong participation from young entrepreneurs across the state.

Between April and October of the current financial year, a total of 2,76,824 applications have been submitted under the scheme, against a target of 1.5 lakh beneficiaries for FY 2025-26. Of these, 2,26,511 applications have been forwarded to banks, 73,191 have received loan approval, and 71,918 applicants have been disbursed financial assistance.

Officials say the numbers indicate rising interest among youth in establishing their own enterprises and contributing to local economic growth.

Jaunpur has emerged as the top-performing district under MYUVA, completing 100.27 per cent of its annual target within just seven months.

District Magistrate (DM) Dr Dinesh Chandra Singh said the district had a target of 2,250 loan beneficiaries, for which 6,664 applications were received and 5,410 sent to banks. Loans have been sanctioned for 2,256 youth, making Jaunpur the first in the state to cross its full-year target.

He credited successful coordination with banks, led by Lead District Manager Abhay Prakash Srivastava, for the achievement.

Azamgarh has secured the second position, driven by intensive workshops and counselling sessions at the block level to connect eligible applicants with the scheme.

DM Ravindra Kumar said the district received 5,748 applications against the target of 2,250, out of which 4,775 were forwarded to banks. Loans have been issued to 2,085 youth, reflecting 92.67 per cent progress.

Azamgarh has consistently ranked in the top two across Uttar Pradesh in recent months.

Ambedkarnagar has taken the third rank in the state. With a target of 1,900, the district recorded 5,021 applications, of which 4,176 were forwarded to banks. Loans have been provided to 1,485 beneficiaries so far.

Continuous review with banks has helped in timely issue resolution and faster loan processing, officials said.

Districts including Kaushambi, Hardoi, Jhansi, Raebareli, and Bahraich have also delivered notable progress in extending MYUVA benefits to youth.

The scheme aims to encourage youth to set up small and medium enterprises, generate employment, and strengthen the state’s economic growth trajectory.

Officials note that with application numbers already surpassing targets, the scheme is emerging as a significant driver of entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in tier-2 and rural regions.
