Delhi-Meerut Expressway: Due to heavy fog on Wednesday morning, several vehicles collided with each other on the Delhi Meerut Expressway in the Bhojpur police station area of Modinagar in Uttar Pradesh. At least six people were injured in the accident. The Delhi Meerut Expressway witnessed a jam following the accident. The police reached the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital, jagran.com reported.

The condition of many people injured in the accident remains critical. No death has been confirmed in the accident yet. The traffic system is being restored. Efforts are underway to removed the damaged vehicles from the spot.

Precaution To Be Taken Amid Low Visibility

-Visibility is low in fog, so drive slowly.

-Keep the headlights on low beam to improve visibility.

-Use fog lights in the vehicle, drive carefully on turns and reduce speed.

-Maintain appropriate distance from other vehicles, so that you have enough time to stop in case of an emergency.

-Check the vehicle regularly to ensure that all safety equipment is working properly.

-Get reflectors installed at the back of your vehicle, so that drivers coming from behind can get information about your vehicle.

Due to non-compliance of rules on Delhi Meerut Expressway, accidents happen every other day. To prevent this, orders have been issued in the meeting of the Road Safety Committee. A stand has been made on the Delhi Meerut Expressway in an illegal manner, where taxis, cars, buses are stopped and passengers are made to board and alight from the vehicles. According to the rules, doing so is prohibited on the Delhi Meerut Expressway.
