Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak was gifted a blue drum at the Lantarani Hasya Utsav, which was organised on the occasion of World Laughter Day in Lucknow. The blue drum gained significant attention following a gruesome incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. In this shocking case, a woman, along with her lover, murdered her husband and concealed his body inside a drum, sealing it with cement.
The event took place at Ram Manohar Lohia Park on Tuesday night, where poets entertained everyone with their witty compositions and shart satire. The gifts presented to the guests and their witty remarks left everyone in splits.
Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal was gifted a Harpic bottle. When she was asked to comment on the gift she received Kharakwal smiled and said the toilet cleaner was a contribution to the cleanliness campaign.
Former Minister Swati Singh was presented with a mirror, to which she quipped, "A leader’s job is to show the mirror." When asked whether her own party had shown her a mirror, she smiled and replied, "Our party’s job is to show the opposition a mirror."
When Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak was gifted a ‘blue drum,’ he first commented on the reference, mentioning that the incident associated with it was unfortunate. "There is no division in a husband-wife relationship. This incident teaches a lesson."
Then, switching to a humorous tone, he said, "This is very useful. You can store a lot of things in it. Just don’t think the wrong way!"
Similarly, when Minister of Horticulture and Marketing Dinesh Pratap Singh received a jackfruit as a gift, he said it was good for nutrition.
