In a major crackdown by Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF), a man was arrested for running an illegal embassy in Ghaziabad district. The man ran the "consulate" while claiming to be a diplomat/ambassador.

Harsh Vardhan Jain was running a West Arctic Embassy at a rented house in Kavi Nagar. He called himself the Consul/Ambassador of countries like West Arctica, Saborga, Poulvia, Lodonia, ADG Law and Order, UP, said, as quoted by news agency ANI reported.

Forged IDs, Documents And Cash Recovered From The Illegal Embassy

The UP STF seized four vehicles with diplomatic number plates, 12 diplomatic passports of micronation countries, forged documents with the seal of the Ministry of External Affairs, two forged PAN cards, 34 seals of different countries and companies, two forged press cards, Rs 44,70,000 in cash, foreign currency of many countries and documents of multiple companies.

According to the STF's Noida unit, preliminary investigations suggest that Jain was engaged in brokering deals by falsely promising job placements for companies and individuals in foreign countries.

He is also suspected to be involved in running a hawala racket through shell companies. The accused used morphed photos showing him with the prime minister, the president, and other dignitaries to mislead people.

An FIR has been lodged at Kavi Nagar police station, and an investigation is underway.
