A fire broke out in a house in Pratap Vihar Sector-11 on Thursday morning, but a major tragedy was averted thanks to the timely actions of a milkman.
According to Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Pal, the homeowner, Ramesh Bhadauria, had gone for yoga early in the morning. At approximately 5:45 am, the milkman arrived and noticed a fire near the gate. He immediately called Mr Bhadauria and helped the five family members who were still inside to evacuate the house safely.
The fire brigade was alerted, but by the time the engines arrived, the blaze had spread from the ground floor to the first floor. Firefighters, led by FSO Kotwali Sheshnath Yadav, tackled the fire from two sides. Three fire engines were deployed to the scene, and the fire was brought under control.
No one was injured in the incident. A preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the MCB.
