With October marking the onset of deteriorating air quality, the Municipal Corporation of Ghaziabad has rolled out extensive preparations to control pollution levels. The construction, health, water supply and horticulture departments will work jointly to address the issue this year.
State-of-the-art mechanised road sweepers, water sprinklers, water cannons, anti-smog guns and spray tankers will be deployed across the city. Ten modern vehicles equipped with anti-smog guns will operate regularly for road sprinkling and dust control.

Officials identify the following as major contributors to pollution in the district:
-Smoke emissions from illegal factories.
-Dust from broken and unpaved roads.
-Traffic congestion due to heavy vehicular load.
-Operation of vehicles beyond their validity period.
Authorities believe that with stricter enforcement and continuous dust control measures, air quality can be kept in check during the upcoming high-pollution season.
