Ghaziabad News: Residents of Raj Nagar Extension (RNE) can expect smooth traffic flow and improved road infrastructure as the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has announced to purchase land from owners to develop eight key roads listed in the zonal plan of Raj Nagar Extension. Additionally, the GDA will also approve maps for residential projects in the area.
The seven identified roads include five with widths of 45 metres, one of 30 metres, and another of 24 metres. All the roads are important for the area’s road infrastructure development.
The development of seven out of eight key roads has been delayed due to the unavailability of land. To overcome this obstacle, the authorities have decided to purchase land directly from the landowners, Hindustan Times quoted an official as saying.

“All these eight roads are part of the zonal plan for Raj Nagar Extension, and the GDA board on Tuesday cleared a proposal for the direct purchase of land for completing these roads. This will help in streamlining traffic and also provide better connectivity to residents in RNE,” GDA media coordinator Rudresh Shukla said.
All eight planned roads in Raj Nagar Extension faced land acquisition hurdles, stalling their completion for years. With the GDA board approving the proposal, the GDA will be able to directly purchase land and move ahead with the construction work.
Residents of Raj Nagar Extension are severely hit by traffic snarls due to the poor roads. The traffic conditions in RNE have gone from bad to worse over the years. “The peak hour traffic is chaotic, and the lack of zonal plan roads has also posed challenges for residents in terms of better connectivity.,” Vikrant Sharma, a resident of Raj Nagar Extension, told HT.
