A case has been registered against six members of a family in Tyodi-7 Biswa village, under the Bhojpur police station's jurisdiction, for allegedly harassing and attempting to murder a woman after she gave birth to a daughter. The in-laws are accused of strangling the woman until she was unconscious and then setting her room on fire before she was rescued by locals.
The victim, Nazia, is married to Kaif of Tyodi-7 Biswa. According to her complaint, her in-laws' behavior was good initially but turned hostile after she gave birth to a baby girl. Nazia alleges that because her in-laws had been expecting a son, they began taunting and frequently beating her.
She also made a serious accusation against her father-in-law, claiming he had improper intentions towards her. Despite the abuse, she stated she endured it all in an effort to keep her family together.
The situation escalated a few days ago when the accused allegedly beat Nazia severely and then attempted to murder her by strangulation. After she fell unconscious during the assault, her in-laws presumed she was dead and set her room on fire. Alerted to the situation, local residents broke down the door and rescued her.
Since the incident, Nazia has been staying at her parental home. She filed a complaint with the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Modinagar, seeking legal action against her in-laws.
