The body of a 35-year-old man was discovered in a field in the Sahjanwa police station area on Wednesday morning. The victim, identified as Vishal Yadav of Kuawal Kala, had left his home the previous night after receiving a phone call and never returned.
Discovery Of The Body
Villagers out for a morning walk found the body lying in a wheat field beside the Jogia KolKatai-Tikar road. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and initiated the identification process. The victim's family identified him shortly thereafter.
According to the police, the deceased had sustained serious injuries to his face and head. There were visible signs of a struggle at the scene, including disturbed soil in the field, leading authorities to suspect foul play.
Victim Profile And Timeline
Vishal Yadav was the elder of two brothers and worked as a carpenter in Mumbai to support his family.
Recent Return: He had returned home a month and a half ago following the death of his father.
Plans to Leave: He was preparing to return to Mumbai in two days.
The Disappearance: On Tuesday night, while dinner was being prepared, Vishal received a call on his mobile phone. He left the house telling his mother he would be back shortly but did not return all night.
Family Tragedies
The incident has devastated the family, who were already grieving the recent loss of Vishal’s father. He is survived by his mother, Shakuntala Devi, and an 11-year-old younger brother. Relatives had recently initiated marriage discussions for Vishal, and a formal viewing had already taken place.
Police Investigation
Sahjanwa Station House Officer, Mahesh Chaubey, confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Murder Suspected: Given the injuries and signs of struggle, police are not ruling out the possibility of murder, although the family has not yet filed a written complaint.
Next Steps: Police are investigating all angles, including gathering evidence such as call records. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report.
