Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat: The new semi-high speed train Vande Bharat with 16 coaches has reached Gorakhpur. The new train will run on the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow-Prayagraj route. The eight coach Vande Bharat already running on Gorakhpur-Prayagraj route will be run on Gorakhpur-Patna route. The railway administration has intensified its preparations for the operation. The journey of the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will become easier, jagran.com reported.
Experts say that the new rake of Vande Bharat which has reached Gorakhpur will undergo preliminary inspection. The new rake will be operated only after being satisfied after testing the equipment. However, the date from which the train will run has not been decided yet. But first the new rake of Vande Bharat will be run on the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj route.
After the eight coach rake running on Gorakhpur-Prayagraj route becomes empty, it will be operated on Gorakhpur-Patna route. Preparations to run Vande Bharat train on Gorakhpur-Patna route have also gained momentum. This train is to be run on Gorakhpur-Bettiah-Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur-Patna railway line.
This train will depart from Gorakhpur at 4 am and return by 9:30 pm. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who was on a tour of Gorakhpur and Bettiah, had announced the running of a new Vande Bharat train between Gorakhpur and Patna.
The fully air-conditioned semi-high speed train manufactured with indigenous technology has eight and 16 coaches. Apart from the air-conditioned chair car, sleeper Vande Bharat is also being manufactured. On July 7, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat with eight coaches from Gorakhpur Junction.
Initially, this train used to run till Lucknow via Ayodhya. As the demand of passengers increased, its route was extended till Prayagraj. In the coming days, only Vande Bharat trains will be run on almost all the major routes of Northeast Railway including the headquarters Gorakhpur.
Apart from the sleeper Vande Bharat between Gorakhpur to Delhi and Agra, there is a proposal to run a total of 17 trains including seven Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat including Prayagraj via Varanasi. There is a plan to operate pink sleeper Vande Bharat between Gorakhpur and Delhi.
Vande Bharat Depot Will Be Built Next To RPF Training Center
Vande Bharat's depot will be built next to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Training Center in Gorakhpur. The railway administration has sent the proposal to the Railway Board. After getting the approval of the board, the construction work of the depot will begin. Apart from this, a separate shed will be built in the mechanical factory.
A training centre for Vande Bharat will also be opened at the Multidisciplinary Systems Training Centre (MSTC) in Gorakhpur. Apart from cleaning and washing of Vande Bharat, the railway workers will also get the facility of training for periodic repair (POH) in Gorakhpur itself.
