Gorakhpur’s Dhuriyapar Set For 100 MW Solar Plant As Tata Group Proposes Major Investment

The wave of industrial investment in the Dhuriyapar area of the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) has intensified significantly. Following the entry of business conglomerates like the Adani and Reliance groups, the prestigious Tata Group is now set to make a major investment in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home district.

The Project

100 MW Solar Plant Tata Power Company has proposed the establishment of a massive 100-megawatt solar power plant in Dhuriyapar. To facilitate this ambitious project, the GIDA administration is in the process of making 500 acres of land available to the company.

GIDA officials have fast-tracked the process. Recently, a high-level meeting was held between GIDA administration and representatives from Tata Power. The officials have already conducted a site inspection with the Tata team, and the land acquisition and transfer process is expected to be finalised soon.

Investment And Employment Boost

The Tata Group is expected to invest approximately Rs 800 crore in this project.

Employment: The plant is projected to provide direct employment to more than 300 people, along with numerous indirect job opportunities for the local population.

Energy Production: Tata Power has set an ambitious target of generating 20 crore units of electricity annually. Once fully operational, the plant will play a pivotal role in meeting local electricity demands and alleviating the energy crisis in the state.

Adani Group: Planning to set up a cement factory.

Reliance Industries: Establishing a Campa Cola bottling plant.

Official Confirmation

Confirming the development, Anuj Malik, CEO of GIDA, stated, "There is a proposal from the Tata company to set up a 100-megawatt solar power plant. For this, land will be allotted to the company in Dhuriyapar."
