The Greater Noida Authority plans to revamp the ancient pond, green zone, and temple in Bhola Rawal village. The project aims to develop the site into an eco-tourism destination, officials said on Friday.

The authority’s Additional Chief Executive Officer, Prerna Singh, conducted a field visit on Thursday to review ongoing development works across the region and issued directives to restore the village’s traditional water body.

“The pond in Bhola Rawal holds both ecological and cultural significance. Its rejuvenation is a step towards promoting environmental sustainability while preserving the village’s heritage. Our aim is to create a clean, green, and inclusive public space that benefits both residents and visitors,” Singh said, according to HT reports.

The renovation will involve desilting the pond, reinforcing its embankments, landscaping the surrounding area with native plants, and creating eco-friendly seating spaces for visitors. The adjacent temple, believed to be several centuries old, will also be restored as part of the comprehensive green development plan, officials said.

Officials added that the project will be funded through the authority’s green infrastructure initiative. The first phase, which will focus on cleaning and reinforcing the pond, is expected to begin soon, with landscaping and eco-tourism features to be implemented in subsequent phases.

Inspections were also carried out at Bhanauta village, where officials reviewed the under-construction cremation ground. They were instructed to add a shaded structure for the villagers’ comfort, and other civic infrastructure was also evaluated.

These roads are key to Greater Noida’s infrastructure development plan, designed to improve connectivity and support regional industrial growth. Approved by the authority’s CEO, the land acquisition process is currently underway.
