A B Tech student has committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a hostel in the Knowledge Park police station area of Greater Noida. The incident occurred at around 11:30 PM on Friday night at a hostel in Knowledge Park-3. Udit Soni, a second-year B.Tech student from Bhognipur in Jhansi district, had returned to the hostel with his friends, Chetan and Kuldeep after consuming alcohol.
Events Leading To The Suicide
The hostel management reprimanded him and sent a video of the incident to his father, Vijay Soni. After receiving the video, his father scolded Udit and said he would have him removed from the course and brought home. Distressed by this, Udit Soni jumped from the fourth floor of the hostel. He was immediately taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Student Protests And Vandalism
Following the incident, other students at the hostel became agitated, shouted slogans against the management and vandalised a bus parked nearby and starts protest but were eventually calmed down by police who arrived at the scene. The police have since brought the situation under control.

Police Investigation And Current Status
The police stated that the student's family is at the scene. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Some people are being questioned in connection with the case, and senior officers have spoken with the students. A case will be registered and action will be taken once a formal complaint is received from the family.
