Greater Noida: In a shocking incident in Greater Noida, a few guards and other staff are seen hitting, kicking and punching residents of a high-rise complex after they complained about a power outage. The incident took place on Thursday night in the Supertech Ecovillage-1 society of Greater Noida.

What Led To The Violent Clash?

According to the information provided by the police officials, the residents of the complex were agitated as there was a power outage in the society for hours. There was no electricity for two to three hours. The residents came out of their houses and went to the maintenance staff for resolution, but they did not provide any help in this matter. The conversation turned into a heated argument, and soon the staff and guard became violent and started hitting the residents.

Reaction Of The Residents

A resident of the Ecovillage-1 society said, “The electricity didn't come for two to three hours. The maintenance staff was not picking up our calls, so we went downstairs. When we went there, some other residents were already trying to get answers. As we were talking, some members of the maintenance staff began punching us. One man held my collar as other people hit me with sticks. I was also slapped...my entire body is swollen. My children were crying in the corner.”

What Happened Next?

Soon after the incident happened, the residents registered a complaint against the guard and maintenance staff. “Upon receiving the information, we reached the spot and registered a case, and arrested the accused on the charges of assaulting the society residents," DCP Central Noida, Shakti Mohan Awasthi, said.

The officials said that the four people from the maintenance department, identified as Ravindra, Sohit, Sachin Kuntal and Vipin Kasana, were arrested by the police.
