Despite the release of the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) five days ago, thousands of farmers in Hapur district are still awaiting the credited amount, leading to growing frustration and concern.
The district has 1,26,510 registered beneficiaries, but so far the instalment has been transferred to the accounts of only 96,000 farmers. More than 30,000 farmers remain unpaid, prompting many to visit banks and Jan Seva Kendras for updates, where they are being informed that the instalment has not yet been credited.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Yogendra Kumar said that discrepancies were found in some cases where both husband and wife were receiving the instalment, whereas under PM-Kisan rules, only one member of a family is eligible.
He added that the instalment has been successfully sent to the accounts of all eligible farmers, and those still awaiting payment will receive it soon.
