Due to the Lawyers Association election voting, traffic movement around the court area in Kanpur will remain diverted from 6 am to 6 pm on August 19. The traffic police have put diversion plans in place to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement.
Diversions announced:
- Vehicles coming from TAFCO Tiraha and Merchants Chamber will not be allowed towards DAV Tiraha via VIP Road from Green Park Square. Instead, they will turn left from Green Park Square, right from Union Bank Tiraha, pass through the back road from Green Park Stadium, and reach VIP Road via DAV Tiraha behind Gora Cemetery. These vehicles will not be permitted from DAV Tiraha towards Madhuvan Tiraha.

- Vehicles from Silverton Tiraha will not be allowed towards Madhuvan Tiraha from MG College Square. They must turn left from MG College, then right from Green Park Square to Union Bank Tiraha.
- Vehicles from Phoolbagh Chauraha will not be permitted towards VIP Road Sarsaiya Ghat from Meghdoot Tiraha. Instead, they will take the route via Bada Chauraha – Parade Chauraha – Moolganj – Chunniganj – Green Park – MG College.
- Vehicles from Bada Chauraha will not be allowed towards Chetna Chauraha, Sarsaiya Ghat and VIP Road. They will be diverted via Meghdoot and Parade Chauraha.
- Only advocates’ vehicles will be allowed towards the Police Office from Chetna Chauraha. However, they will not be permitted beyond the Police Office towards Madhuvan Tiraha. Advocates’ vehicles will turn right from the Police Office and park near Tikonia Park.
- No vehicle from Muir Mill Tiraha will be allowed towards Bhargav Chauraha.
Parking arrangements:
- JNK Inter College (near Chetna Chauraha)
- Gas Godown Ground (near Laddha Kothi)
- Nagar Nigam Inter College (near MG College Chauraha)
- DAV College Ground (beside Madhuban Tiraha)
- Macrobert Hospital Parking (opposite Merchants Chamber)
Traffic police have appealed to citizens to follow the diversions and use designated parking areas to avoid inconvenience.
