Following the model of DLF City, a new township is set to be developed on Deva Road in Lucknow. Shalimar Group is bringing this township to 158 acres, which will feature plots, group housing, and various other amenities. The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Council Board is likely to approve the land acquisition proposal under Section 28 on April 29.
The board meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, will address over a dozen proposals. The state's 2023 township policy designates the Housing and Development Council as the nodal agency for townships outside development authority areas.
This agency will handle licensing, land acquisition, plot map approvals, and other processes similar to those for the council's new townships. Shalimar Housing Group has already received the license for the 158-acre Deva Road township.
The board is now expected to approve the commencement of the land acquisition process under Section 28. If Shalimar Group acquires 80 per cent of the land, the Housing and Development Council can manage the remaining 20 per cent. Shalimar Group CEO, Shivajanm Chaudhary, stated that the DPR will be ready within a week.
Additional Housing Commissioner and Secretary, Dr. Neeraj Shukla, confirmed that preparations for the council's board meeting are in the final stages, with over a dozen proposals expected to be discussed on Tuesday. The agenda is likely to be finalised on Monday.
