Agra-Lucknow Expressway Accident: In a road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, a car collided head-on with a double decker sleeper bus, leading to the deaths of seven people and injuring 46 passengers. The accident occurred around 1 am at kilometre number 129 of the expressway.
According to the police, the driver of a car fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer into the opposite lane and collide head-on with an oncoming double-decker bus. The impact of the collision sent the bus spiralling out of control, leading it to overturn.

Among the deceased were three passengers from the car and three from the bus. The car passengers were identified as Pradyuman, 24, from Kannauj, Monu, 25 and his mother Chanda, 50, also from Kannauj. The bus passengers were Om Prakash, 50, from Lakhimpur Kheri, Raju Sah from Amethi and two unidentified individuals.
"A double-decker bus going from Raebareli to Delhi collided with a car at around 12:30 am. There were 60 people on the bus, out of which 4 people died and about 20-25 people were injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. 3 people who were there in the car also died. A total of 7 people have died," said Sanjay Kumar Verma, the Senior Superintendent of Police in Etawah.

The injured, numbering approximately 46, were rushed to the Uttar Pradesh Medical University in Saifai for treatment. Among them were three individuals from the car – Madhuvan, Mohit and Lala – who sustained minor injuries.
Immediately after the incident, the Etawah SSP, along with the Additional District Magistrate Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava and other police officers, arrived at the scene to oversee the rescue and investigation efforts.
