Magh Mela 2026: The Magh Mela, one of India's most revered religious gatherings, is currently taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Drawing millions of devotees from across the country, the 45-day event, which runs until February 15, promises a spiritual and cultural experience like no other. The Magh Mela is a time-honoured tradition that starts on Paush Purnima, the full moon day of the Hindu month of Paush, and concludes with Mahashivaratri. The mela is marked by pilgrims taking a ritual dip (snan) at the Triveni Sangam, where the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati converge. This act of bathing in the holy confluence is believed to cleanse the soul and purify one's sins.
Though the Magh Mela is an annual event, its roots are deeply intertwined with the grander Kumbh Mela, a similar yet far rarer gathering held every twelve years. While the Magh Mela is confined to Prayagraj, the Kumbh Mela rotates between four major pilgrimage cities Prayagraj, Ujjain, Nashik, and Haridwar. The Magh Mela is celebrated exclusively during the month of Magh, which spans January and February in the Gregorian calendar.

3. Deluxe Cottages: For Rs 8,995 per night, these offer a comfortable yet affordable stay, ideal for the majority of pilgrims.
