The Uttar Pradesh government announced plans to install over 67,000 streetlights at the Mahakumbh 2025 township in preparations to provide devotees with good infrastructure facilities during their pilgrimage to one of the holiest events in the Hindu religion. The project which aims to provide the best experience for the devotees expands on various fields including roads, infrastructure, residence for devotees and more. The state has allocated Rs 400 crore for power supply and installations of lights alone and will also provide around-the-clock electricity during the Mahakumbh.

An official stated that the government will install 109 diesel generators to ensure 24x7 uninterrupted power supply in the entire mela area and around 15 ring main units (RMUs) of 11 kV will also be installed so that in case of sudden interruption of power supply, power can be obtained immediately through another source, as reported by news agency ANI.
