A heart-wrenching incident came to light in the Maant area on Saturday night. A fierce fire broke out in a car after an electric wire fell on it in a field. The CNG-powered vehicle exploded with a loud blast and was completely burnt to ashes. A young man sitting in the car was burnt alive.

Ankit (25), a resident of the Maant town area, had gone to his field for a visit in his Toyota Glanza car at around 8:30 pm on Friday night. During this time, a high-tension wire suddenly broke and fell directly onto the car. This caused a massive fire to erupt in the car. The CNG tank installed in the car exploded with a blast.

Within moments, the flames engulfed the vehicle, and Ankit, who was inside, was charred to death at the scene. Upon receiving information, a fire brigade team reached the spot and after a strenuous effort, brought the fire under control, but by then, it was too late.

There is deep anger and grief among the nearby villagers regarding the incident. People accused the electricity department of negligence, stating that such incidents are happening frequently because dilapidated wires are not being repaired.
