A woman running a massive extortion racket, using marriage, rape cases, and subsequent settlements as tools, was exposed after she attempted to implicate Sub-Inspector Aditya Kumar Lochav of the Gwaltoli police station. She was arrested on Monday at Shiwala Bazaar. Investigation revealed that Aditya was her fourth husband.

According to police, the woman, identified as Divyanshi Chaudhary, had created a network of false accusations to extort money from multiple men. When Aditya discovered irregular transactions in her phone and confronted her, she filed a complaint against him with the Police Commissioner, accusing him of illicit relations and exploiting women. A probe later uncovered Rs 8 crore spread across 10 of her bank accounts.

Officials found that apart from Aditya, Divyanshi had also targeted another sub-inspector, two bank managers, and several government employees. Lawyers reportedly created a ruckus at the women’s police station in an attempt to secure her release.

Aditya, a 2019-batch sub-inspector from Bibinagar (Bulandshahr), claimed that some police officers were part of Divyanshi’s gang and pressured him into a settlement. He married her on February 17, last year, after a proposal was made by his uncle.

Post-marriage, Divyanshi frequently stayed at her parental home, claiming to be preparing for BEd and CTET, and repeatedly asked for money online. She would delete her UPI app before visiting his house, but when he reinstalled it and checked her transaction history, he discovered multiple accounts and crores of rupees in transfers. A confrontation followed, and she left for her parents’ home.

On November 25, last year, Divyanshi filed a complaint against Aditya with Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar, making several allegations. When Staff Officer Amita Singh investigated, it emerged that crores had moved from her accounts to those of a sub-inspector, an inspector-in-charge, and a Circle Officer previously posted in Meerut.

Records also showed she had earlier filed and withdrawn rape cases against three government employees and two bank managers, and had even married another sub-inspector before accusing him of rape as well.

DCP Central Shravan Kumar Singh confirmed that Divyanshi has been arrested and is being interrogated. She will be produced in court on Tuesday.
