A 28-year-old man, who attempted to take his own life at his residence on Western Kutchery Road in Lalkurti, succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Monday morning. Following his death, the family pleaded with the police for an extended period to release the body without a post-mortem, but the procedure was carried out as per legal protocols.

The Incident

Lalkurti Inspector Harendra Jadaun stated that the police received information on Sunday evening regarding the incident. The victim, identified as Aditya Chauhan, a resident near the Ulfat Rai Jain Temple, had attempted to hang himself from a ceiling fan.

In a timely intervention, his mother, Dayawati, arrived at the scene and managed to bring him down. With the assistance of the family, the police admitted Aditya to LLR Medical College Hospital, where his condition remained critical throughout the night.

Death And Formalities

Despite medical efforts, Aditya passed away on Monday morning. Following the death, the grieving family requested the police to hand over the body without conducting a post-mortem. However, the police proceeded with the mandatory autopsy before handing the body over to the relatives for last rites.

Inspector Jadaun confirmed that the family has not filed any formal complaint regarding the incident.
