Uttar Pradesh News: A major accident took place at Katghar Zero Point in Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh. Due to fog, there was a massive collision between vehicles on the Moradabad bypass. The police PRV was also damaged in the crash. A video shared online showed several crashed vehicles standing in line on the road.

Over half a dozen vehicles were damaged in the collision, while several people were also injured. The injured victims are being admitted to the district hospital for medical care. The police, upon reaching the scene, have taken the injured to the district hospital for treatment.

Weather Update: Fog Engulfs North India

Several parts of North India are witnessing dense fog and cold wave conditions. Delhi on Thursday recorded temperature of 6.4 Degrees Celsius, as of 5:30 AM. The national capital is also likely to receive rainfall on January 12 and 13.

In Uttar Pradesh, people woke up to a chilly morning as a dense layer of fog blanketed cities, towns and villages. In Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj a layer of fog blanketed the city as the temperature was recorded at 7.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday at 7:30 AM, according to IMD. In Lucknow temperature was at 7 degrees Celsius.

Dense fog engulfed Punjab and Haryana with visibility completely reduced to zero in Amritsar. In Chandigarh, the common capital of both states, visibility decreased to 80 meters. Fog was also witnessed in Karnal and Ambala in Haryana.
