The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is planning to construct a 130-metre-wide road to provide direct connectivity between the Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) and National Highway 9 (NH-9). YEIDA will soon send a formal proposal to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to request its construction.
Project Scope And Connectivity
Primary Goal: The new road will directly link NH-9 to the Noida International Airport and provide access to several proposed sectors within YEIDA City.
Route & Length: The road is part of YEIDA's master plan. Within the YEIDA region, it will start near Aloda village and stretch for approximately 25 km, connecting to the proposed Khurja-Palwal Expressway near the airport's boundary.
Greater Noida Link: This project will connect to the existing 130-metre-wide road that links Greater Noida West to East, which is currently constructed up to Sirsa.
Expressway Connections: The road will also link with the Ganga Link Expressway, another 130-metre-wide project being built by UPEIDA. After crossing the link expressway, the road will pass the airport's cargo terminal before meeting the Khurja-Palwal Expressway.
Alternative Route: This road will serve as a crucial alternative route to the airport, besides the Yamuna Expressway, and will be particularly beneficial for freight vehicles traveling to and from the cargo terminal.
Development And Impact
The 130-metre road is envisioned as a major lifeline for YEIDA City, similar to its role in Greater Noida. Several new sectors are proposed along this corridor:
Residential Sectors: 1, 2, 3, 5, etc.
Industrial Sectors: 8, 8A, 8B, 8C, and 8D.
Interim And Supporting Projects
Cargo Hub Link: An 8 km long, 30-metre-wide road is already under construction to connect the airport's cargo hub with the Yamuna Expressway. This road will eventually be integrated into the main 130-metre road.
Temporary Connectivity: Until the main road is built, YEIDA plans to construct a 5 km road to provide temporary access for its industrial sectors, linking them to the Khurja-Palwal Expressway.

Financials And Funding Challenges
Raising the required funds for the project is a significant challenge for YEIDA.
Land Acquisition Cost: An estimated Rs 1,400 crore is needed for land acquisition alone.
Construction Cost: An additional Rs 300 crore will be required for construction.
To meet these costs, the authority is seeking an interest-free loan from the state government for the land purchase. YEIDA has previously received Rs 3,000 crore in two phases from the state government and has also secured funds from the central government under the Gati Shakti campaign.
