The administration is taking strict action against illegal construction on land acquired for the second phase of Noida International Airport. The tehsil administration has requested FIRs against more than 100 individuals from two villages and has imposed a ban on the supply of building materials in all six affected villages.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Jewar, Abhay Kumar Singh, said that preparations are also underway to investigate the sources of income of those involved in large-scale illegal construction. “If land mafia involvement is found, they will be declared under the Gangster Act and strict action will be taken,” he added.

For the second phase of the airport, 1,181.27 hectares of land have been acquired across six villages: Ranhera, Kureb, Karauli Bangar, Dayanatpur, Birampur, and Mudhreh. In villages such as Karauli Bangar, Ranhera, and Kureb, illegal construction is being carried out after compensation for ancestral homes has been collected, reportedly with the expectation of receiving additional compensation or plots.

To curb this, the SDM has banned the supply of all construction materials, including bricks, sand, aggregate, dust, and steel bars, in the affected villages. Police have been directed to seize vehicles supplying building materials and take action against the firms involved.

Earlier, the tehsil administration had sent letters to the Jewar and Rabupura police stations to file reports against illegal construction in Nagla Hukumsingh and Ranhera, accompanied by photographs of the structures. Officials said coordination between the tehsil administration and police aims to stop those seeking improper gains and causing financial losses to the state government.
