The Noida Authority is set to accelerate the development of Sector 145, situated near the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The primary focus of this initiative is the development of plots allocated to farmers under the 5 per cent scheme.

Infrastructure Development

Roads And Amenities: The Authority has finalised plans to construct a 16-kilometre road network within the sector.

Status: Tenders have been issued, a contractor has been selected, and the work has been officially awarded.

Budget And Timeline

Approximately Rs 23 crore will be spent on the project. The construction is scheduled to be completed within six months.

Additional Features: The project includes the construction of footpaths and subsequent landscaping to enhance the area.

Plot Allocation for Farmers The development aims to benefit 2,200 farmers who are receiving 5 per cent plots in this sector.

Land Status: The Noida Authority has acquired approximately 31 hectares of land designated for these plots. Possession has been taken, and the area has already been fenced with pillars installed.

Next Steps: With the land secured, road construction is the immediate priority to make the plots accessible.

Legal Background And Compensation

Vijay Kumar Rawal, Deputy General Manager (Civil) of the Noida Authority, provided details regarding the land acquisition history in Begumpur village, which falls under Sector 145 (encompassing 31.3828 hectares).

Acquisition Timeline: Proceedings for 108.223 hectares in the village were initially initiated on November 7, 2007 and March 17, 2008.

Legal Hurdles: The process faced delays due to a stay order issued by the Allahabad High Court on February 18, 2008. The matter was eventually resolved following verdicts from both the High Court and the Supreme Court.

Compensation: Following the court orders, the district administration announced the compensation award on July 19, 2024.

Payment: The Authority has deposited Rs 102 crore into the district administration's account to settle the compensation for the affected farmers.
