Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will get two new underpasses in front of Jhatta (at 16.900 km chainage) and Sultanpur village (at 6.10 km chainage), jagran.com reported. After getting the in-principle approval from CEO Dr Lokesh M, the authority had sent the file to IIT Roorkee for testing the detailed project report (DPR). However, the file of Jhatta underpass has been returned by IIT Roorkee, in which some additional information has been sought.
Noida News: Project To Facilitate Movement Of People
The authority is going to send information to IIT in a week, after which the project will get approval. The authority will issue a tender for its construction in January 2025. This project will facilitate the movement of people from 30 residential sectors and 15 villages.
Noida News: At Present, Small Underpasses Have Been Built
The authority will spend Rs 237 crore on the project. At present, small underpasses have been built at both the places. Congestion is witnessed at the location causing long traffic jams. A big four-lane underpass will be built near it.
Noida News: People Living In Societies Will Have Better Connectivity
Additional Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Kumar Khatri said that the authority has started finalizing the work towards providing better connectivity to the people of villages, sectors and societies located around Noida Greno Expressway.
One underpass shall be constructed at Sultanpur village situated on the side of the expressway and the other at Jhatta village. The detailed project report (DPR) of the project has been prepared by Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit (DIMTS), which was passed by the Technical Audit Cell (TAC) of the authority and after the in-principle approval of the CEO, was sent for VAT from IIT. As soon as the approval is received, the work of bringing the scheme to the ground will begin.

First Jhatta Underpass
-It will be built on the 16.900 km chainage of the expressway between Sectors 145, 146, 155 and 159.
-Proposed Length : 800 m
-Estimated cost: Rs 131 crore
-Areas to be benefited: Newly developed/under development industrial sectors- 151, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 162 and 9 nearby villages
Second Sultanpur Underpass
-It will be built on the 6.10 km chain on the expressway between Sectors 128, 129, 132 and 108.
-Proposed Length : 731 m
-Estimated cost: Rs 106 crore
-Beneficiary areas: Sectors 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 110, 80, 81, 82, 83, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, Phase-2, NSEZ and 11 Villages
