Noida International Airport Update: To provide fuel to the planes flying from Noida International Airport, 95 per cent work of the pipeline being built from Faridabad in Haryana to Jewar has been completed. Bharat Petroleum has laid a 34 kilometre-long underground line for the special type of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to be filled in the planes directly from the Pyala depots to the Noida Airport, jagran.com reported. The work of laying the pipeline from Haryana to Jewar Yamuna Expressway has been completed. The work of laying a 1.2 km-long pipeline from under the Jewar canal outside the airport to the oil depots inside the airport is also almost complete.
When Will The Pipeline Laying Work Be Completed?
Soon, the supply of fuel to the aircraft will be started at the airport by connecting the line. The Chief Secretary recently reviewed the construction work of the airport and directed to complete all the work by June 30.
An agreement was signed between Noida International Airport and Bharat Petroleum on February 20, 2024, to deliver aircraft fuel to the airport. Keeping environmental protection in mind, it was decided to lay a direct pipeline to avoid carbon emissions caused by transporting oil through tankers.
