Noida Metro Update: The Noida Metro on Thursday announced that 12 parking lots will be built soon to provide convenience to the metro users. The authority stated that the parking lots will allow the commuters to park their vehicles and use metro rides for long distances, adding that the move will lead to more ridership. Apart from providing relief to the commuters, the move will also help in reducing traffic congestion near metro stations.

While providing details, the authority stated that the parking lots will be designed to accommodate all kinds of vehicles. It stated that the parking lots will have space for four-wheelers, two-wheelers, motorcycles, and bicycles.

The authority clarified that the construction work might commence soon, as tenders for managing parking lots have already been released for multiple locations, including Sector 76, Sector 101, NSEZ, Sector 83, Sector 137, Sector 143, Sector 144, Sector 145, Sector 147, Sector 148, Pari Chowk, and Delta 1.

Apart from this, the Noida metro authority has already allotted contracts at four stations on the Aqua Line, including Sector 51, Sector 142, Sector 146, and Alpha 1. The officials stated that the parking facility will be available in the peak hours, leading to a surge in the number of metro users.

"The move will benefit existing passengers, and would motivate others to use metro services. The parking lots will operate daily from 5am to 11pm," NMRC spokesperson Nisha Wadhwan was quoted as saying by the Times of India. While the initial plan suggests that the licensee will get the full area for parking, the NMRC can claim 15 per cent of the land if needed.

What Are The Charges? 

The authority stated that the car owners will have to pay Rs 25 for up to six hours, Rs 50 for up to 12 hours, and Rs 55 for a full day. Apart from this, the motorbike owners will have to pay Rs 15 for six hours, Rs 25 for 12 hours, and Rs 30 for a full day. While the commuters can get the monthly pass for a car for Rs 1,100, it will cost them Rs 500 for a monthly pass for motorbikes.
