The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have made stringent security arrangements in preparation for New Year's Eve. The entire district has been divided into three super zones, 10 zones, 27 sectors and 119 sub-sectors to properly manage security. In addition to regular police, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) and special teams will be deployed in crowded areas, malls, and other locations.
Considering the New Year’s Eve celebrations and protests by various organisations, Section 163 of the Indian National Security Act (BNS) will remain in effect until January 1. According to the police media cell, gathering of five or more people at any public place or taking out processions without prior permission has been prohibited.

Drone operations will also be restricted within a one-kilometer radius of government offices and nearby areas. Additionally, sound amplification devices such as loudspeakers have been banned between 10 PM and 6 AM. Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh mentioned that crowded places like malls and markets have been identified for special attention from New Year’s Eve onwards, as per Jagran.com.
The security force comprises eight DCPs, five ADCs, 15 ACPs, 75 Inspectors, 750 Sub-Inspectors, 117 Women Sub-Inspectors, 1,470 Constables and 473 Women Constables. These officers will be deployed in both day and night shifts. The DCPs of all three zones will audit the availability and allocation of police forces. Seven PAC companies, equipped with riot control gear, will be deployed.
The Dog Squad and Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad (BDS) teams will patrol crowded places and malls, checking suspicious individuals. Barriers will be placed at key intersections for further checks. Various drone surveillance teams will also be assigned to monitor the area thoroughly. PRVs (Police Response Vehicles) and PCRs (Police Control Room vehicles) will be constantly patrolling. Pinak Commandos, PSC (Police Security Command), and QRT (Quick Response Teams) will remain on standby at different locations.
At 115 points, zigzag barriers will be installed and checking will be conducted at 30 spots using breath analysers and speedometers to prevent accidents. In addition to the police, shopkeepers, institution staff and mall employees will monitor CCTV and remain vigilant, assisting with crowd and traffic management.
Following instructions from Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, the police conducted checks at crowded locations, malls and other areas. The police team visited well-known hotels such as Connaught Palace in Beta II, Ansal and Grand Venice to conduct inspections. Most hotels, restaurants, and banquet halls in the city had already been booked by people planning to celebrate with family and friends.
