The foundation stone for the zero-shaped skywalk at the Sector-62 Model Town roundabout will be laid this Wednesday. This skywalk is designed to be 530 meters long and four meters wide.

Strategic Connectivity And Design

The skywalk will be constructed by connecting it to the existing Foot Over Bridge (FOB) located on the Khoda Colony side of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME). From there, it will extend in a zero-shaped configuration towards Chhijarsi.

The structure will encircle the Model Town roundabout in a complete loop. In the future, a new FOB will also be constructed here to further integrate with the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Designed by Orion Architects, this project will serve as a direct link between Noida and Ghaziabad.

Impact On Commuters

This project is expected to benefit more than eight lakh (800,000) commuters daily who travel to Noida from Ghaziabad, Hapur, Delhi, and Bulandshahr. While the official estimate is high, the actual number of beneficiaries may be even greater, as a vast majority of these individuals are employed in various sectors across Noida.

Project Cost And Modern Amenities

The construction of this skywalk will incur an estimated cost of approximately 40 crore. It will feature multiple entry and exit points on the Noida side, specifically catering to Sector-62, Sector-63 and Chhijarsi.

To ensure a seamless experience for pedestrians, escalators will be installed on the Noida side. Additionally, two lifts will be provided at the corners of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway to assist commuters in moving between levels comfortably.
