The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme aims to provide solar pumps to farmers in Mahoba district. The initial target was to distribute pumps to 650 farmers, but by the March 17 deadline, only 300 farmers booked the pumps, and merely 60 farmers deposited their share. Meanwhile, 240 farmers who booked the pumps have not proceeded with the payment, showing a lack of interest in availing the scheme.
To encourage participation, the deadline has now been extended. Deputy Agriculture Director Dr Abhay Kumar Singh has urged farmers to generate challans from Jan Suvidha Kendras and deposit the remaining amount at any Indian Bank branch.
Failure to deposit the amount within the new deadline will lead to forfeiture of the token money, which will not be refunded under any circumstances. Additionally, those who do not complete the payment process will be disqualified from receiving the solar pumps.
