A mini-bus belonging to Shri Ram Inter College, Baraut, overturned after being hit by a canter (light truck) in Sarurpur village on the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway. Eight children travelling in the bus were injured in the accident. The accused driver abandoned the canter at the scene and fled.

Bus Dragged For 100 Meters

The bus was transporting children to school on Wednesday morning. Around 8:00 AM, as the bus reached near the Canara Bank branch in Sarurpur Kalan, a speeding canter rammed into it from behind. The impact was so severe that the canter dragged the bus for approximately 100 meters before the bus lost control and overturned. The incident caused panic in the area, and villagers rushed to rescue the children from the vehicle.

Injured Admitted To CHC

There were reportedly 12 children from Sarurpur Kalan and Ladhwari on the bus at the time of the accident. The eight injured children were admitted to the village Community Health Center (CHC), where doctors administered treatment.

One Student Referred To Higher Centre

CHC Superintendent Satyendra Sharma stated that the eight children brought to the hospital were treated. One student, Ayush, sustained a nose injury and has been referred to a higher centre for further medical attention.
