A first-year engineering student from Bihar died by suicide at a private hostel in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park area, leaving behind a note in which he reportedly wrote that he did not want his parents to spend any more money on his education.

According to an NDTV report, the student, identified as Akash Deep, was pursuing BTech in Computer Science at Delhi Technical Campus. He was residing in a private hostel in the Knowledge Park locality. The incident came to light last evening when his roommate, who had stepped out, returned and found Akash hanging in their room. Akash was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police have recovered a note from Akash Deep’s room, which read, "Sorry, Mummy Papa, your son turned out to be weak. Do not think that I am doing this due to someone else. Only I am responsible for my death. Please don't bother anyone about my death."

The note added, "I do not want to waste any more money, Mummy. What I did in Classes 11 and 12…dropped a year, I don't want to do the same here. I accept defeat; this is not for me. I don't want to stretch this for four years, waste your money, and give false hope. So it's better to end this. My results were bad in Classes 11 and 12. I won't let it happen again. Sorry."

Senior police officer Arvind Kumar Chahal said, "When a police team visited the hostel, we found that the student who died by suicide was a first-year BTech student at DTC college, and he was originally from Bihar. We have found a suicide note that suggests he died by suicide due to the pressure of studies. Police are taking necessary action."

In a separate incident, In Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, a hospital manager, Prateek Singh, also known as Kukku, attempted suicide by shooting himself. The incident occurred around midnight on Monday, when his family, preparing to sleep, was startled by a gunshot. Prateek was found in his room, bleeding heavily, and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

He is currently in critical condition on a ventilator, with doctors reporting severe internal injuries from the gunshot. Prateek, who worked in staff management at the same hospital, has no known reason for his drastic action. Police have launched an investigation, questioning family members and probing how he acquired the pistol. No suicide note has been confirmed so far.
