What Police Said?
Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Manish Shandilya said the pilot managed to eject safely and there were no reports of any casualties or damage to civilian property. He said the training aircraft crashed after its engine developed a sudden technical snag. Authorities cordoned off the area, and further investigation into the incident is underway, he added.
Eyewitness Tells What Happened Moments Before Crash
Surendra Kumar, who was present at the scene of the accident, said he saw the aircraft wobbling erratically in the sky. The next moment, two parachutes deployed from the plane, and both pilots were seen floating in the air before the aircraft crashed. As the plane plunged into the middle of the pond with a loud explosion, people from the surrounding area rushed to the scene. The presence of water in the pond prevented the aircraft from catching fire, thus averting a major disaster.
Meanwhile, the local police force arrived with an ambulance. The pilot and his co-pilot were taken to the hospital. A large crowd gathered at the crash site.

The aircraft flew over the grounds of KP College, then crashed into a pond and was stuck there. Two army helicopters arrived shortly afterwards for the rescue operation. However, before their arrival, local residents had already entered the pond and pulled the pilot and co-pilot, who were trapped inside the aircraft to safety.
