The first sessional examinations for students of Classes 1 to 8 in 1.32 lakh council and recognised schools across Uttar Pradesh will now be conducted between August 25 and 30, instead of the earlier scheduled dates of August 18 to 23.

According to instructions issued on Sunday by the Basic Education Department, the rescheduling was done due to incomplete preparations in many schools. Over 1.5 lakh students are expected to appear in the exams.

As per the revised plan, question papers will be prepared under the supervision of the headmaster and the school in charge, based on the syllabus completed till July. Evaluation will be done by the respective subject teachers or class teachers.

After the exams, a special day will be fixed for parent-teacher interactions, during which results will be shared and discussions held about students’ performance, particularly focusing on weak learners who will be given additional practice.

The headmaster and block education officer will oversee all examination arrangements, while expenses will be met from the composite grant. Records of the examination will be maintained at the school level.
