Regarding preparations for the upcoming UP Board high school and intermediate examinations, scheduled from February 18 to March 12, District Inspector of Schools Rajesh Kumar held a meeting with the district's 98 centre superintendents on Tuesday. Guidelines for the examination were issued at the meeting. He also directed that an explanation be sought from the centre superintendents who were absent.
24-Hour Armed Security And CCTV Monitoring For Strong Rooms
District Inspector of Schools Rajesh Kumar stated in the meeting that 24-hour armed police security must be ensured for the strong room at the examination centre. Additionally, the strong room should be established at the examination centres three days before the question papers arrive. This strong room will be separate from the principal's office and will have a CCTV camera operational 24 hours a day. Moreover, the DVR must have a minimum recording capacity of 30 days.
The recordings from the strong room upon the arrival of question papers and answer booklets, and the recordings from CCTV cameras in the examination halls during the entire examination period, must be kept safe for at least 6 months. This will be provided to the board if required.
New Regulations For Invigilators And Subject Teachers
At least 50 per cent of the invigilators and staff at each examination centre will be appointed from external schools. Teachers will not be assigned duty for their respective subjects. A teacher will not be assigned duty as an invigilator or reliever for an examination in their own subject.
Teachers from a particular school will not be assigned invigilation duty in an examination hall where female students from their own school (as a self-centre) are taking the exam. This arrangement will apply in halls where female students from the self-centre are seated in a mixed arrangement. If female students from the self-centre are seated in a mixed arrangement across all halls of the examination centre, this rule will not apply.
Action Against Absentee Superintendents
The District Inspector of Schools expressed strong displeasure with the centre superintendents who were absent from the meeting. He instructed that an explanation be sought from them and directed that another meeting be called on Wednesday for all those who were absent.
Only Female Teachers Will Search Female Students
At the meeting, Prashant Chaudhary, vice-principal of PM Shri Government Inter College, outlined the examination guidelines. He stated that at every examination centre, female candidates will be searched by female teachers, while male candidates will be searched only by male teachers.
Prohibited Items: No Mobiles Or Electronic Devices
Vice-Principal Prashant Chaudhary stated that no candidate should be allowed to enter the examination centre with cheating materials, mobile phones, calculators or any other type of electronic device. During the examination, the entry of unauthorised persons, photography, and briefing the press or media about the exam will be strictly prohibited at every centre. It will be mandatory for each examination centre to install a camera focused on the main door of the strong room.
Mandatory Power Backup And Verification Protocols
Every examination centre must have a generator or inverter to ensure the uninterrupted operation of CCTV cameras and lighting in the examination halls. Each invigilator will sign the answer booklet only after matching all entries, including the roll number, with the candidate's admit card. All invigilators must instruct candidates to write their roll number on every page of the answer booklet and at the end.

Associate District Inspector of Schools Dr Parul Verma, Associate District Inspector of Schools Krishna Kumar, Principal of PM Shri Government Inter College Upendra Singh, and Principal of Government Girls Inter College, Parikshitgarh, Poonam Chaudhary were primarily present at the meeting.
