Ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections, the UP Election Commission has uncovered large-scale irregularities in the voter list. A preliminary probe using Artificial Intelligence (AI) has identified more than one crore voters with striking similarities in names, caste, addresses, gender and age.

State Election Commissioner Raj Pratap Singh, after performing the Bhoomi Pujan of the Commission’s new office on Friday, said that AI and a Face Recognition System will be deployed for the first time in the Panchayat polls.
