UP Crime: A 30-year-old woman with her two minor daughters was found in a pool of blood at their residence inside mosque premises in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhagpat. The family of a Mosque cleric, Ibrahim, was reportedly killed with a sharp-edged weapon inside their home when he was away in Deoband for some work. Ibrahim was the Imam at the main mosque at Gangnauli village in Baghpat.

The murder victims have been identified as Ibrahim’s wife, Israna, and two minor daughters, Sofia and Sumaiya, aged five and two years respectively. The mosque Imam belongs to Sunna village in Muzaffarnagar and has been serving at Gangnauli's Badi Masjid for the last four years.
 
 
His wife, Israna, used to give lessons to children inside the mosque compound. Israna’s body was found by children, who came for the tuition.
 
The bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem as soon as Superintendent of police Suraj Kumar Rai, additional SP Praveen Kumar Chauhan, and circle officer Vijay Kumar reached the spot after being informed about the incident.
 
Villagers protested and demanded speedy justice as police removed the body from the incident site and sent it for a post-mortem.
 
 
“We are probing all possible angles, whether it is a case of family dispute, robbery or enmity. Five dedicated teams have been formed. The culprits will be arrested soon,” news agency PTI reported, quoting Deputy Inspector General (Meerut Range) Kalanidhi Naithani.
