The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has played a significant role in promoting industrial development and job creation in the state over the past eight years.
Due to UPSIDA's industry-friendly policies, 798 plots have been allocated to various industries, leading to the employment of 51,761 young people. Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA, stated that improvements in law and order and the industry-friendly environment in Uttar Pradesh have attracted investments from industrial houses across different states.
To ensure smooth plot allocation, UPSIDA has proactively established land banks in various districts. In 2017-18, only 191 industrial plots spanning 114 acres were allocated. Since then, 798 plots across 526 acres have been allocated to various industrial units, with many factories already operational.
The number of jobs created through UPSIDA's efforts has risen from 11,570 in 2017-18 to 51,761 over the eight-year period. Furthermore, UPSIDA's revenue has increased from Rs 586 crores in 2019-20 to Rs 1,900 crores in 2024-25, reflecting the success of the government's industrial policies in providing a transparent, simple, and favorable environment for investors.
