Rae Bareli Shocker: A 32-year-old man killed himself after murdering his wife by slitting her throat in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. The couple have been identified as Bhimraj alias Bhikhu (32) and his wife Soni Devi (28). The bodies of the couple were found dead inside their home, said the police on Saturday.
According to police, the incident took place on Friday night in Surjipur Nihastha when Devi had returned home after attending a wedding. Bhimraj locked the door of his room from inside and slit his wife's throat with a sharp weapon. Later, he hanged himself.
When other family members did not get any response from the room, they broke the door open. They found the couple dead in the room. They informed the police. Cops sent bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination.
The couple left behind three children -- Shivam (9), Shubhi (7), and Shivansh (4), who were at their maternal grandfather's house at the time of the incident.
The probing officials seized a sickle used in committing the crime from the spot. On the question about the cause which triggered the incident, police said the probe is underway, and soon officials will reveal the cause of the murder.
Man Dies By Suicide After Killing Wife, 3 Children
Earlier on Friday, a similar shocking incident surfaced, in which a man ended his life by hanging himself from a fan after apparently strangling his wife and three children to death in the same room in Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh. Additional Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chandra Uttam said information was received from Kailashpur village under the Ikauna police station area.

Roz Ali (35) was found hanging in the room, which was locked from inside, with his wife Shahnaz (30), and their three young children -- Tabassum (6), Gulnaz (4), and Moin (2), said Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati.
"It appears that the deceased man had strangled his wife to death and the children were also killed by suffocation with a pillow or by strangulation," the SP said. Their bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway, the officer said.
