The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has received over 600,000 applications so far for the recruitment of 4,534 Sub-Inspector posts. Officials estimate that the number of applications may cross 20 lakh by the final submission date of September 11.

The board has indicated that it will take around three months to conduct the written examination for Sub-Inspector recruitment. Before this, the written exam for the Computer Operator Grade-A (2025) recruitment will be held next month.

The recruitment board has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system for police recruitment, with more than nine lakh candidates already registered. Several candidates requested corrections in their OTR details, after which the board decided to allow a one-time amendment facility, now available on the official website.

An official said that a large number of applications are expected to be submitted in the final week before the deadline.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway to hold the clerical cadre recruitment exam in November. Recruitment is to be carried out for 930 Computer Operator Grade-A posts, while the process for 921 Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk), and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts) posts is already in progress.
