UP News: Ahead of festivals like Diwali and Chhath, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has announced the operation of additional buses from several parts of the state to the capital city, Lucknow. The Transport Corporation has also announced 18 new route charts from Raebareli depot to Lucknow's Charbagh bus station. The authority stated that operation of additional buses will provide convenience to thousands of commuters of various districts. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

UPSRTC to operate buses on these routes:

- Raebareli - Barara - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Nisgar - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Haidergarh - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Maurawan - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Shivgarhvaiti - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Rampur - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Vishundaspur - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Dhai - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Bankagarh - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Tiloi - Lucknow

- Raebareli - Bhira - Lucknow

The authority stated that the residents of all the above-mentioned regions will get major relief due to the operation of special festival buses. It further stated that the objective is to connect rural areas with better transportation facilities. The residents of the rural regions of these districts stated that one had to take private vehicles or change vehicles several times to go to Lucknow; however, operation of additional buses will provide major relief by cutting the travel time and saving money, reported Jagran.Com.

Earlier on Friday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) decided to expand the Lucknow-Sitapur National Highway from its current four lanes to six lanes. The move is aimed at increasing vehicle speed and reducing the heavy traffic load on the crucial route. A survey conducted by the authority has confirmed that the highway currently handles a daily traffic volume of over 38,000 light and heavy vehicles.
