UP Weather: The weather experts in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday warned that the state is expected to face record-breaking heat in the upcoming months. While providing details, they informed that the heat has already broken multiple records in the February month. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that this was the seventh hottest February since 1952.

It further informed that the minimum temperature on February 28 was 18.2 degrees Celsius, adding that this was only the seventh time in February since 1952 that the minimum temperature had crossed the 15 degrees Celsius mark. The weather experts have stated that the temperature in several states of India, especially the northern states, has significantly increased in the past few days.

Regional Meteorological Center scientist Dr. Atul Kumar Singh on Friday stated that several regions of Uttar Pradesh are expected to be hit by heat waves in later phases of March. He stated that these regions are also likely to be hit by a greater number of heat waves in comparison to the previous few years, reported Jagran.com.

'Multiple Records Might Get Broken' 

While providing details, he stated that due to 88 percent less rainfall than normal in January, the heat increased in February. The experts informed that a few of the districts, such as Kanpur, Prayagraj, Lucknow, and Varanasi, are expected to be hit by the heat waves.

He stated that the heat is about to set a new record this season, adding that the residents of these regions may have to suffer from minor to major diseases due to the temperature. The weather experts stated that the temperature in May might cross 50 degrees Celsius, adding that while the regions may receive occasional rain, it will not provide convenience for a longer time.

The weather department also suggested the residents take the precautionary measures and limit the unnecessary outings. It further suggested the residents keep themselves hydrated and take care of the meals, adding that the meal should contain more seasonal fruits and vegetables.
