Uttar Pradesh Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning for rain, hailstorms and lightning across the state till February 4. On February 2, thunderstorms and lightning are likely in more than 30 districts of western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas.
On Monday morning, light to moderate fog was reported in Lucknow and nearby regions. Gusty winds, with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph, are expected in 10 districts. Meanwhile, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur and Shravasti, along with surrounding areas, are likely to experience colder conditions.
Districts On High Alert
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely in parts of western and central Uttar Pradesh on Monday, including Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Sambhal, Budaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur, along with nearby areas.
In Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur, gusty winds are also expected, with wind speeds likely to range between 30 and 40 kmph.
UP Weather Forecast
1. Rainfall has begun in western Uttar Pradesh due to an active Western Disturbance over northern Pakistan.
2. Rain is expected to reach central and eastern parts of the state by Monday and may continue till February 4 with two more disturbances.
3. La Niña in the Pacific is weakening and likely to return to neutral by February-March-April.
4. Night temperatures in most parts of the state may remain slightly above normal, reducing cold wave days by 1-3 days.
5. Increased atmospheric instability has reduced fog, with chances of thunderstorms and lightning in western Uttar Pradesh.
6. Daytime temperatures rose, with Lucknow reaching 24.1 degree celsius, and minimum temperatures may increase 3-6 degree celsius over the next 48 hours before dropping slightly after February 4.
