Uninterrupted electricity supply has been identified as a key measure for maintaining law and order during the festive season. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently directed officials to ensure round-the-clock power in a review meeting ahead of Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali.

Following this, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Chairman Dr Ashish Kumar Goyal has instructed officials to remain on alert and ensure electricity supply as per the fixed schedule. He emphasised that consumer complaints must be addressed immediately and local faults rectified in the minimum time, with updates communicated to consumers.

During a meeting on Saturday, Dr Goyal underlined that increasing humidity makes vigilance even more important. He directed officials to stay at their designated posts, keep phones accessible, and ensure bill collection along with power supply.

The Chairman also called for regular reviews of the state helpline number 1912 across all DISCOMs. Consumers’ calls must be attended to without delay, and if the supply is disrupted, complete information must be passed on to the call centre immediately.
