Amidst evolving societal changes, the institution of marriage, once considered the strongest, is facing challenges. To prevent marriages from falling apart, the Women Welfare Department is set to open pre-marriage counseling centers in every district in Uttar Pradesh.
The first center of its kind will be established at the One Stop Center in the Lok Bandhu Hospital Complex in Lucknow. The center will feature a team of psychologists, social workers, and counselors who will teach young couples the principles of a happy and successful marriage.
Experts will provide guidance on the social, psychological, and practical aspects of marriage, helping couples and their families address concerns and promote healthier, more informed relationships.
While the exact operational details, including the schedule for counseling, are still being finalised, it is anticipated that sessions will be held on weekends. Vikas Singh, District Probation Officer, shared that this initiative is aimed at reinforcing the social fabric, with preparations underway for the center to open within the next two months.
