Players from the Uttar Pradesh Police have brought immense pride to the nation by delivering a historic performance at the World Police Fire Games 2025, held in Alabama, USA. Participating for the first time on such a large scale, UP Police athletes clinched an impressive total of 95 medals, including 45 gold, 34 silver, and 16 bronze.

The Indian contingent secured third place in the overall medal tally, with athletes winning 560 medals across various disciplines. Remarkably, UP Police players contributed the highest number of medals to India’s total, emerging as the top-performing group in the country.

Congratulating the medal winners, Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, ADG PAC RK Swarnkar, and IG PAC Central Zone and Secretary of the UP Police Sports Control Board Dr Preetinder Singh praised the players for their outstanding achievement and extended best wishes for their future endeavours.

Out of the 50 UP Police athletes selected by the All India Police Sports Control Board, 43 players participated in the global event, held from June 27 to July 6, and showcased their skills in a range of sports.

Police officials stated that participants from 63 countries competed in the international sporting event. This was the first time that such a large contingent from UP Police took part in the competition, marking a significant milestone in the department’s sports history.

The DGP highlighted that this achievement not only boosts the morale of the force but also enhances the positive image of UP Police and the state of Uttar Pradesh on the international stage.

In a recent move to strengthen the state’s sports culture within the force, UP Police also inducted 516 skilled athletes as constables, including 178 women sportspersons, under its sports quota recruitment drive.
